Yenta Yolanda (Yo) "Dugong" Dawndive
Captain of The Nightowl, Wanted Fugitive
“This weathered halfling woman was perhaps attractive once and indeed now, she carries some nobility about her, but the lines on her face and the white of her hair show her to be well past middle aged. She carries herself remarkably well, for all that – no trace of feebleness or fragility in her limber form. Her cloth is excellent, if somewhat dashing, and she often sports a feathered cap, especially in port, though the high winds of the sea often make such a thing impractical aboard her beloved caravel.”
Captain of The Distressed Damsel and loyal servant of Three Seas Shipping for over two decades, Yolanda Dawndive, called Yenta by her crew, Yo by her friends and the Dugong by her rivals, is a pragmatic and mercenary Free Captain, currently flying Three Seas banner in the Scarlet Sea, though she personally prefers the Azure Sea herself.
As a Free Captain, the Dugong sails wherever she finds work and carries the blessing of Three Seas wherever she does sail. She caters almost exclusively to adventurers, recognizing both their extreme wealth and their recurrent need to travel long distances. She’s very concerned about customer service and customer comfort and takes the desires of her clients very, very seriously.
In Zahal 338 F.I., the heroes contracted Captain Dawndive to transport them from Cantilever to Eudox. Her contract was then extended to pursue the sunset ship and she’s also made it clear that, should Three Seas discover any of the less than legal things they’ve been engaged in, from transporting goliath cargo to breaking the quarantine around Obalta, she’ll be forced to foreswear the adventurers and dump them in the nearest available port.
Dawndive is also something of a halfling history buff, having a celebrity crush on Fabianna Farflung that was only exacerbated when they actually met in 612 A.E.
Unbeknownst to The Nameless Company, Captain Dawndive and her crew were accused of aiding and abetting the adventurers’ breaking of the quarantine and thrown into the Subaqueo Var, the most secure prison on the planet. When the heroes sprung her from prison, they discovered her raving and embittered. She’s slowly on the mend but, in the meantime, her and her crew are wanted fugitives from Three Seas Shipping.
At present, she captains The Nightowl, her dream ship, on The Nameless Company’s continued adventures. She’s also radically altered her appearance – shaving her head, getting a magical tattoo, using a fake cane as a prop.
